The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA has proven his worth as a competent subordinate who rightly complements the activities of his principal given his meticulous performance in his two weeks stint as the Acting Governor of Delta State following the approved two weeks vacation for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori by the Delta State House of Assembly.
Deltans and concerned Nigerians were amazed to see how Sir Monday Onyeme confidently and competently stepped into his principal’s shoes and took on his new roles as Acting Governor head on, not allowing the state to feel any vacuum due to the governor’s absence.
The Chartered Accountant and management expert wowed Deltans by the way he meticulously balanced the display of his capacity to fit into the roles of an Acting Governor while still maintaining his trademark of modesty and sustaining loyalty to his principal.
Sir Monday Onyeme who is largely known for his exceptional humility and long standing pedigree of loyalty did not seek to outshine his master nor draw unnecessary attention to himself, rather, his strength of character played out while he confidently executed every single task assigned to him by the governor who was on official leave.
Some people would have seized the ample opportunity for showmanship and self anggradizement but His Excellency, Sir Monday Onyeme chose to diligently commit his time to the assignment he was given and competently executed them to the satisfaction of Deltans within the two weeks that he acted as Governor.
These are my thoughts and observations on the person and capacity of the Deputy Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA.
