SOLOMON Ekene has an HND in Electrical Electronics. He hails from Aniocha South Local Government Area. He is the CEO of Ekso Electrical Enterprises. He was trained and established in Electrical Installation and Maintenance in the Delta State Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) in the 2015/2016 cycle. Ekene was the best trainee during training. Six years after, he shares his experience.
“Immediately after establishment with starter pack, I rented a shop in Ogwashi-Uku. I execute contracts for electrical installations on buildings which has been quite rewarding. On regular basis, I repair electrical appliances such as washing machine, blender, iron, micro wave, stabilizer, fan, electric stove etc.
“I have trained six persons who are now established; I currently have two trainees. I have acquired more equipment to make my services easier and attractive to clients. From the proceeds, I got married and provide for my family. I have acquired a plot of land too.
“STEP is my dream come true; I am practicing what I studied in school. I have published a book, “Simplified Electrical Installation: Rewinding & Repairs.” I have acquired more training on the job.”
