DEPUTY Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State, Chief Monday Onyeme, Delta North Senatorial Candidate of the party, Prince Ned Nwoko, and the member representing Ika Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Victor Nwokolo, have challenged the people of Ika South to produce the highest number of votes for the party in the 2023 general elections.

Addressing members of the PDP at Abavo during a campaign tour of the area on Thursday, the candidates noted that the mother of the Vice-Presidential candidate of the party who is the Governor of Delta State, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, hails from the Local Government Area and as such, it should produce the highest number of votes for their son to become the Vice-President.

Onyeme said, “First, with the warm reception that we are receiving in Ika South, you have shown that you are in love with the PDP, a political party where your son, our Governor, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, is using as a platform to emerge as Vice-President.

“Our Governor is doing well and he will do more as our Vice-President, so, if you want him to do more, give 100 percent votes to the PDP.

“You know that our Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, a man we know very well is moving up to take over from your son as Governor and I am his running mate, so, show your love for the PDP because if you vote for PDP, you will vote for Governor Okowa as our Vice-President, you will vote for me as Deputy-Governor, you will vote for Prince Ned Nwoko as our Senator, you will vote for Hon. Nwokolo as member of the House of Representatives and you will vote for Hon. Festus Okoh (Chukky Dandi) as member of the Delta State House of Assembly.”

Prince Nwoko and Hon. Nwokolo buttressed what Chief Onyeme said, stating that with the infrastructure that has been attracted to the Local Government and with the number of people empowered by the Government, the people should beat all other Local Governments with the number of votes cast.

Elder Isioma Okonta and others who spoke at venues, stated that they have embarked on house-to-house campaign to further intimate the people of the need for all valid votes to be given to the PDP.

Some of those who were in the campaign train include Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor, Chief Godwill Obielum, Hon. Charles Emetulu, Hon. Cosmas Igbenije, and others.
