29 Persons Confirmed Dead As Restaurant Collapse In China

TWENTY-NINE people have been confirmed dead and several others injured when a restaurant collapsed in northern China’s Shanxi province, during 80th birthday party.

The Ministry of Emergency Management said in a statement.on Sunday that the two-story restaurant crumbled at 9.40am on Saturday.

Though, what caused the building to collapse could not be ascertained as at press time, hundreds of rescuers searched the rubble and broken slabs of concrete, using sniffer dogs, cranes, and high-tech sensors to retrieve the 29 bodies and rescue the injured.

Sources revealed that the Shanxi provincial government has set up a high-powered investigative team to unravel what made the restaurant to collapse.
