The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has said that Delta is richly blessed based on different ethnic nationalities that take the state as home.
He made the description on Sunday when the Arewa Community led by Alhaji Ibrahim Baba Gero, Seriki Hausa Delta State, paid a 60th birthday anniversary solidarity visit to him at his residence in Asaba.
According to him, Deltans are accommodating and does not discriminate against anybody no matter the tribe or religious leaning.
He said, “this is a special visit from my people, it is good that the Hausa community just like people from different parts of the world have made Delta their home.
“Our state is relatively safe and our people, Deltans generally are accommodating and receives visitors without discrimination.
“What is important to us is for everybody to be engaged in positive, progressive activities, we are happy that our state is getting a great boost socio-economically.
“I appreciate this your birthday visit, thank you and God bless.”
The leader of the Arewa Community, Alhaji Ibrahim Baba Gero, Seriki Hausa Delta State, said that they left the Mosque and went straight to the Deputy Governor’s Lodge because they appreciate what he is doing for humanity.
The Seriki who spoke through the Chairman, Delta State Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Auwalu Tukur said, “the Hausa Community will always support you, our Deputy Governor, we take you as one of our own.
“You are representing Delta State very well in government,” he said.
