THE Niger State Government and Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central at the 8th National Assembly have reacted to the report of the abduction of the Commissioner of Information and Strategy in Niger State, Mohammed Sani Idris.
Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sani Bello of Niger State, Mary Noel-Berje in a statement issued on Monday morning disclosed that, Idris was taken at about 1am from his home at Baban Tunga village in Tafa Local Government Area.
The spokesperson added that said security agencies are on the trail of the assailants.
Also, Shehu Sani on Monday morning, via a Facebook post, condemned the incident, describing it as tragic.
Shehu Sani wrote, “The abduction of the Niger State commissioner of Information is tragic.
“This further attest to the fact that no one is safe.My prayers to him and other students of the Tegina Islamic school still in the hands of their abductors.
“The federal and state governments must wake up and address this consuming danger”.
Last week in Zamfara, bandits kidnapped the father of House of Assembly Speaker, Nasiru Muazu Magarya.
The lawmaker represents Zurmi East in the state legislature.
The criminals also abducted his stepmother, uncle and four others when they stormed Magarya village in Zurmi Local Government Area.
