ASSISTANT Inspector General (AIG) of Police in charge of Zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra State, Mohammed Danmallam, has assured members of the public that there would be no room for illegal arrest and detention, extortion, extra judicial killings, as the newly commissioned Police Zonal Headquarters, begins full operation.
The AIG also assured the public of improved security situation within the Zone in a media briefing held at Zone 13 Headquarters of the Police, Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Zone 13 which was newly created will be in charge of Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi Police Commands.
Danmallam who spoke with journalists after meeting with the three Commissioners of Police under the Zone – Mr. John Abang of Anambra State Police Command, Mr. Amad Abdullham of Enugu, and their Ebonyi counterpart, Mr. Philip Sule Makpo assured the public that the Commissioners would do their best to promote good relationship between the police and the citizenry.
He stressed that under his watch, there would be no extra judicial killing, unlawful dentention, extra judicial killings, and other Police excesses.
AIG Danmallam pleaded for the support and co-operation of other security agencies and members of the public to enable the Police achieve desired goals.
He described the media as partners in progress, stating that an emergency number would be provided for members of the public, assuring that all petitions and valuable information would be given deserved attention.
While promising to protect the Identity of anyone who provides them with vitak information to curb crime, Danmallam stressed that the issue of herdsmen and farmers clash would be addressed as peaceful coexistence within the Zone would be given priority.
