A leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Chief Godwill Obielum, has described the death of the member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Ikechukwu Akozor, as a great loss.
Chief Obielum who led a strong delegation that included the Commissioner for Primary Education in the state, Chief Chika Ossai and Ndokwa East PDP Chairman, Chief Vincent Osilonya on condolence visit to the deceased family on Friday, stated that the late DESOPADEC Commissioner was humility personified, and a great party man.
He said, “we received with rude shock the death of my friend, a wonderful and humble personality and loyal party man, Hon. Akozor.
“His death is a great loss not only to us, the PDP as a family but, the entire Ndokwa nation, Delta State and humanity.
“Hon. Akozor was an easy going person who has listening ears to all, he was always committed to delivering results and he will, greatly be missed.
“As an individual, I have lost a personal friend.”
He urged the family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a good life and contributed to the development of humanity.
Chief Obielum also, prayed that God will accept the soul of the deceased.
Prince Mike Oputa, Commissioner, Delta State Civil Service Commission on behalf of late Akozor’s family, thanked Chief Obielum and his team for paying the condolence visit, stating that they will be informed once the family decides on a date for the burial.
