MR Tony Olofu has been posted to Anambra State as Commissioner of Police.
Olofu who was born on 24th October, 1963 in Benue State and hails from Apa, Local Government Area of the State replaces Chris Owolabi.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Sociology from University of Jos.
Olofu was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on 3rd March,1990.
Sequel to a successful completion of traning at POLAC, Kano, he has served as Commander 25 Police Mobile Training PMF Azumini, Divisional Police Officer, Garki, Abuja.
As an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), he served as the Area Commander, Kubwa, Abuja Command, Commander Operation Doo Akpo, Bayelsa State and as Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP), he was the DC, Operation Ebonyi Sate, DC in charge of Criminal Investigation Department CID Bauchi State Command.
Also, as a Commissioner of Police, he served as CP Counter Terrorism Unit, CP Director Operations and Intelligence National Center for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons at the Office of the National Security Adviser ONSA, Abuja before his deployment as the 31st Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command.
CP Tony Olofu, has attended host of professional and staff courses. A few of the course include: Advanced Detective Course in Jos, Squadron Command Course,Tactical Leadership and Command Course and Strategic Leadership and Command Course, Jos respectively.
He is also member of the Nigeria Contingent to Angola, Member Africa center for strategic studies, National Defence University Arlington Virginia, USA and Member International Chiefs of Police USA. He is married with Children.
