A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Dennis Araro, has lauded the appointment of Barrister Victor Ebonka Esq as the Special Project Director, SPD, in charge of the Asaba Waterfront City Project, by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The appointment of the Ebonka was announced recently in a statement issued on behalf of the state government by the Secretary to Delta State Government, SSG, Dr. Kingsley Emu.
The statement said the appointment was with immediate effect.
Reacting to the development in a telephone call, Comrade Araro commended Governor Oborevwori for finding Ebonka worth of appointment into the position.
Araro, a frontline leader of the PDP in Ika South Local Government Area, also said that the appointment was well deserved, given the antecedents of Barrister Ebonka.
According to Araro, the appointment offers Ebonka the opportunity to contribute to the successful implementation of the MORE Agenda of the Oborevwori administration.
He described Ebonka as a dependable lawyer and experienced administrator who would deploy his rich reservoir of relevant experience in the discharge of his responsibility as Special Project Director in charge of the landmark project.
Ebonka was the immediate past Chairman of Ika North East Local Government and Delta State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON.
He was also the immediate past Legal Adviser to the ALGON at the national level.
The Asaba Waterfront City Project is a public/ private partnership project between the state government and a private interest.
By the terms of the agreement, the state government is responsible for providing the land , paying compensation for the economic crops on it and constructing a six- lane access road to it.
