THE Senior Political Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, has attributed his success story in life, especially, politics to the support of the people.
Speaking on Wednesday morning, when some political appointees and staff of his office organised a brief but, impressive ceremony, Solomon disclosed those working with him are his greatest assets politically.
He thanked God for His blessings upon the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, his family, those working with him and entire Deltans.
“I thank God for giving me dependable people to work with; I have been around actually for some time as a journalist, teacher and politician.
“I was appointed Chief Press Secretary to the pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly; I have been in Asaba longer than many people.
“I became Chief Press Secretary as well as Special Assistant to the Speaker.
“It is my joy that God brought me to this office and brought you to work with me and I thank God that our future together is bright.
“I am very grateful to His Excellency the governor for trusting me to me be the Director-General of his campaign and we are committed to the course of Governor Okowa’s administration.
“Our success story could only have been made possible by God.
“Humility is part of our life.
“My greatest asset is the people working with me that is why I am grateful to the governor.
“Interpersonal relationship is better than money and I believe the future is brighter; God will see us till 2023 and by the grace of God, we shall still be in government,” he said.
Earlier, Sir Austin Onianwa, Director, Political Development and Mobilsation, SPOLAD’s Office who spoke on behalf of the political appointees and civil servants,
“SPOLAD, we have benefitted from you immensely and we are here to pray for you.
“This is the beginning of celebrations in your life.
“Happy birthday Sir,” Sir Onianwa said.
Some of those who attended the birthday include Mrs Ifeoma Agbomah, Dr Emmanuel Sorokwu, Hon. Clement Olojoba, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, Chief Godday Mgbabego, Hon. Adim Elue, Comrade Hope George, among several others.
Highpoint of the event was the cutting of the birthday cake by Rt. Hon. Solomon assisted by his wife and those present.
