As part of activities lined up to celebrate his 60th birthday anniversary, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, on Monday, flagged off a three-day free medical outreach.
The flag off ceremony took place at Obiaruku in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking at the occasion, the deputy governor said that it is God that made it possible for him to attain the age of 60 years and one of the ways of thanking God was through the free medical outreach program which will be held in the three federal constituencies of Delta North – Ndokwa, Ika and Aniocha/Oshimili.
“Today is a great day because God has made it possible for me to clock 60 years
“I didn’t know that I will get to 60 years; It is God that made it possible for me to go to school and God made it possible for me to become the Deputy Governor.
“I said that this celebration will not be for me alone, this medical outreach is my way of saying thank God.
“The best way of showing appreciation to God is by appreciating your fellow human being, continue to remember us in your prayers and remember our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori in your prayers.
“We must continue to pray for and support our Governor, whatever he says that we should, let us do them
“We are getting the benefits of having a Deputy Governor,
“Tomorrow is the turn of Ika and next tomorrow is for Aniocha/Oshimili, the medical team will attend to everybody, so, be patient,” he said.
Those who spoke at the occasion including the Senior Policy Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, the Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Council, Barr. Possible Ajede, commended the Deputy Governor for putting smiles on the faces of people as a way of celebrating his birthday.
