AN unconfirmed number of passengers have lost their lives in an accident involving a Mack truck and a Mitsubishi bus.
A video circulating on the internet showed that the incident happened at Agulu, along the Ezu bridge.
A source said the bus was loaded with passengers, while the Mack truck was also loaded with chippings.
The two vehicles immediately burst into flame immediately after the accident, just as some bodies of passengers were seen lying on the road.
The Police and Road Safety Corps were yet to confirm the accident as at the time of filling this report.
Meanwhile, Anambra State Police Command have arrested a suspect who participated in the attack on Ajalli Police Station on September 30th.
It would be recall that Ajalli Police Station in Orumba North Local Government Area had been attacked by gunmen, and the station also looted by unidentified persons, during the reign of unknown gunmen, during the run up to the Anambra Governorship election.
The State Police Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga told our correspondent that one of the attackers was on Christmas day arrested by men of the Command.
The suspect, Emmanuel Nwafor was apparently cruising with a motorcycle on Christmas day, and the motorcycle is said to be part of the properties looted from the station.
DSP Ikenga in a terse press statement said: “Emmanuel Nwafor “M”, age 25yrs. Address : Umuevee Ajalli Orumba North Local Government Area.
“Arrested By Operatives Of Ajalli Division On 25th December 2021. Suspect Was Found With One Of the exhibit motorcycles looted from Ajalli Police Station during the attack by Hoodlums On 30th Sept. 2021.”
He said the suspect was already helping the Police with useful information, adding that there have ascertained any connection yet between the suspect and the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
