Rotarian Mrs Florence Chukwuebuni was, on Saturday, installed 40th President of the Rotary Club of Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
In a congratulatory message on Saturday, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Mass Mobilization, Dr Vincent Udume Odogbor, described the emergence of Rotarian Chukwuebuni as the 40th President of the Rotary Club of Effurun, and the second female to be installed President as very well deserved.
Dr. Odogbor who is the immediate younger brother of the Rotary President, expresses joy seeing her rise to such enviable height within the club.
The Governor’s Aide recognizes the impact the club is carrying out through her humanitarian and community projects, as it aligns with His Excellency’s MORE Agenda to give Deltans a quality life.
Speaking at the ceremony in Effurun, Odogbor said the Oborevwori remains strongly committed to people oriented programmes, and would continue to provide the enabling environment for such initiatives to thrive through its enhanced peace and security drive across the state.
“The Rotary Club International, is known for her community service, and we hope that your tenure as President will bring significant community oriented services that will improve the quality of life and healthy environment.
“The development of our State requires our collective effort at our different levels. I want to congratulate the newly installed President, Rotarian Florence Chukwuebuni and i wish her a successful and impactful tenure in office.”
In a related development, the newly installed Rotary Club of Effurun President, Rotarian Florence Chukwuebuni has earmarked strategic projects during her tenure in office.
In her words, “In this Rotary year, the Club will embark on donation of delivery kits to indigenous women at a cost of N1.4 million naira, support for 10 petty traders with the sum of N1,000,000 million naira, free youth training with Vocational skills at a cost of N2.5 million naira, distribution of mosquito nets and free anti malaria drugs N500k, quiz competition and scholarship award for winners in selected secondary school in Effurun at N400k.
Also the President sees a secured and conducive environment as very vital to learning hence will be installing a gate at the Ebrumede Secondary School at N1million naira, food distribution projects for the needy in rural communities at N1million naira, a Peace Summit/Peace football tournament among the various communities at N3.5million naira and provision of portable water borehole in two communities within Uvwie at a cost of N1.5 million totalling N12.6 million naira only.
The President called on Rotarians and concerned citizens to partner with her to achieve this noble course.
The Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Dr Barry Gbe and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Mass Mobilization, Dr Vincent Udume Odogbor were among those who made donations to support the innitiative.
