CHAIRMAN, Delta Internal Revenue Service (DIRS), Sir Monday Onyeme has called for thorough investigation to unearth those involved in alleged procurement of forged vehicle particulars for members of the public.

According to the chairman, activities of the individuals were not only giving the board a bad name, but denying the state government of revenue.

Onyeme gave the order in Warri through the member representing Delta Central in the board, Hon. Kelly Oghenekevwe, during an interactive engagement between the management of DIRS, Richfield Technologies Limited and representatives of Insurance managers operating in Delta state.

Onyeme warned that any member of staff found to have been involved in the illegal activities would be recommended for dismissal from service as government would not tolerate, “saboteurs from within, working with enemies of government to derail the revenue generation focus of the board.”

Earlier, Managing Director of Richfield Technologies Limited, Dr. Donald Peterson, said he was optimistic that the board would surpass previous revenue targets in the motor vehicle administration sector by the introduction of new technological solutions.

Peterson further spoke on the electronic insurance platform for vehicle administration, stressing that the platform would accommodate different insurance companies willing to participate, as well as ensure that vehicle documents issued through this process would be genuine and “impossible ” to fake.

He assured the chairman that steps were being taken to address stakeholders’ concerns and plug revenue leakages in the system.
