RENOWNED journalist and seasoned administrator, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, will on Thursday, deliver a lecture at year 2022 edition of Corps Employers’ Workshop organised by the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC.
According to a statement from officials of the NYSC, signed by Sanusi A.R, the Director-General of NYSC approved the topic, “EMERGING CHALLENGES OF CORPS ADMINISTRATION: A CORPS EMPLOYER’S PERSPECTIVE.”
The Workshop will hold at the conference hall of Federal Secretariat, Asaba, Delta State.
Egugbo, is the publisher of Newsden and is the Special Assistant, Media, to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.
He has spent more than two decades as a practicing journalist, and has covered several beats – Show Business, Health, Housing. He spent 17 years (2003-2020) as The Pointer Newspaper’s Correspondent in Government House, Asaba, Delta State.
Egugbo is a unionist and held several positions in the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), including the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, The Pointer Chapter and has served in several committees.
He has a lot of published works to his credit. He is the author of the 868-page book, “Memoirs Of A Journalist In Government Media,” and a rare book about pilgrimage, “The Experience.” He is a trained journalist, manager of material and human resources, a marketer and public relations expert.
A jolly good fellow whose relationship with people earned him several nicknames, with Home Boy as the most common, Egugbo’s educational qualifications span through Mass Communication (Our Saviour Institute of Science and Technology, Enugu); Marketing (Delta State University, Abraka); Diploma in Management (Nigeria Institute of Management, Lagos); Public Relations (University of Nigeria, Nsukka); among several others.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of Maris Schools, Amachai, Okpanam, Oshimili North local government area within the Delta State Capital Territory.
Egugbo, who is from Ugiliama, Onicha-Ukwuani clan in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, is happily married and the marriage is blessed with children.
