A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Victor Ijeh has urged Christians to be committed to the work of God.
According to the Priest, there is a lot of work to be done for God, noting that the labourers in the Lord’s vineyard are few.
Delivering a Homily on Sunday morning at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Asaba, Delta State, Fr. Ijeh stated that Christians should encourage people who are playing different roles in the church and also, take up roles in serving God.
He said, “today is Good Shepherds’ Sunday and we remember all those who have given all for the Kingdom of God.
“It is our duty as parents to guide our children; nurture the children to answer the call of God because the harvest is bountiful but the labourers are few.
“Support the work of God by giving your resources, supporting those who have answered the call of God or volunteering to work in the vineyard by either as a Priest, Rev. Sister or play other roles in obedience to God’s call.
“Let us encourage Vocation, let us encourage the work of God; the work in the church is enormous, it is our duty to encourage those working in the Lord’s vineyard and encourage more people to go into vocations, encourage your Priests, encourage the religious.”
