THE conferment of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on Dr. Gabriel Ugbechie, by President Muhammadu Buhari has been described as one of the best ways to encourage industrialists.
Branch Manager, Globus Bank, Okpanam Road, Asaba, Mr Uzo Okoro, gave the description while speaking exclusively with Newsden in Asaba.
According to Okoro, industrialists should be encouraged as such would boost the economy of the country.
“Anything that will boost the economy of the country should be encouraged; this is why those of us at Globus Bank are very happy with the recognition given to the Group Managing Director of Rainoil Limited, Dr. Gabriel Ugbechie.
“Dr Ugbechie has brought a new vista into the private sector as the Group Managing Director of a leading indigenous downstream oil and gas company in the country.
“In Delta State through one of his companies, Norsworthy Farms, he has diversified into the palm oil industry with one of the largest palm plantations in this part of the country.
“Bearing in mind that Dr Ugbechie ventured into the oil industry in 1997, it will encourage other industries to be patient and be committed to what they are doing.
“This is because, they will know that their efforts will not go unnoticed and will be rewarded.”
Okoro, while congratulating Dr Ugbechie, stated that Globus Bank as one of the leading banks in the country, will continue to identify with private individuals who are contributing greatly to the growth of the economy, adding that the bank would also, continue to encourage budding investors to put in their best in whatever they do to the benefits of the country and humanity.
