A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Hilary Ibegbulam, has urged Christians to step up their activities to establish God’s Kingdom on earth.
According to the Priest, just the way Jesus sent out His disciples to preach repentance, God has sent out all Christians on a mission to establish His Kingdom on earth by doing good always.
Fr. Ibegbulem made the call while celebrating the Holy Mass at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Asaba, Delta State on Sunday morning.
He said, “it is about our call to mission; the mission of the 12 disciples that Jesus sent out was to preach repentance, but we are also called on a mission to go and establish the Kingdom of God on earth, an extraordinary mission indeed
“Yes! We are to establish firmly, the Kingdom of God here on earth.
“Amos was called for a prophetic mission; when God called Amos and sent him on the prophetic mission, he was not a prophet, he was just an ordinary herdsman; Amos left his people and his occupation and went to carry out the mission that God sent him.
“For our mission, for us to establish God’s Kingdom on earth, God should be seen in our work, our activities; our work should depict us as Christians and with such, more people will become Christians and we will be able to achieve the mission of establishing the Kingdom of God on earth.
“We should not relent in our actions, we shall establish the Kingdom of God, it is our mission to do so.
“As you do so, depend on God, trust God as you embark on the mission, be simple in your dressing and your actions.
“As Christians, we are all missionaries and our duty is to establish God’s Kingdom on earth, let us pray that God will give us the grace to carry out the mission through our actions, our speeches through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
The celebration of the Holy Mass featured thanksgiving by the parishioners.
