Mr Joseph Igbuwe, has emerged as the President of the Delta State University, Abraka Alumni Association, Worldwide.
Igbuwe, alongside 12 other persons have been administered oath of office as members of the new executive committee of the association.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Andy Egwuyenga, represented by Pro. Ben Nwanne, witnessed the election of the new officers who will pilot the activities of the association.
Other members of the executive committee include, Watite Israel – 1st Vice President, Azugo Godspower – Secretary General, Emakunu Macbeth – Assistant, Ukavwe Karo – Treasurer, Onogba Friday – Financial Secretary, Francisca Etikerentse – Assistant Financial Secretary, Afureh Kingsley – Social Director, Precious Igbinakenzua – Public Relations Officer, Ese Iku – Assistant Public Relations Officers, Barr. Orevaoghene Offeh IIkidi – 1st Legal Adviser, Barr. Aghogho Omaminiovo – 2nd Legal Adviser and Efeturi Kori Siakpere – Provost.
In his acceptance speech, the President promised to build synergy between the alumni association and the management of the university.
He stated that such relationship would attract more infrastructure to the institution, asserting that there are several graduates of the institution who are doing well in their chosen professions who will be reached to contribute to the development of their alma mater.
The Public Relations Officers of the university, Mrs NAD Aboribo and Chief Dr. Emore witnessed the ceremony which saw Ejomafuvwe Taiga, Esq, a legal officer in the Legal Department of Delta State University, Abraka administering oath of office on the elected officers.
