THE Anambra State House of Assembly has called on government agencies and affluent individuals to always patronize products made in the state.
Chairman, House Committee on Works, Dr. Timothy Ifedioramma, made the position of the Assembly known when he led members of the committee to visit an Auto Parts Manufacturing Company in Nnewi.
He noted that by patronising made in Anambra products, the State Internally Generated Revenue will get a boost.
Ifedioramma explained that their visit to the company which specializes in lead acid batteries, was to promote patronage of Anambra products and to commend the owner for extending his wealth home, in line with the think home philosophy of Governor Willie Obiano.
He stressed the need for Ndi Anambra to always trust, buy and make use of the local services in the State so that it can achieve economic prosperity.
The Committee assured that it will consider patronizing the company’s product for their vehicles to encourage others.
In his remarks, the Chief Operating Officer of the company, Mr Vincent Ejike who commended the Committee for identifying with local products, appealed to the Anambra State House of Assembly to enact a law that will stop the influx of substandard products from foreign countries into the State.
This according to him has greatly affected the zeal of the manufacturers to penetrate the local Market due to the penchant of most Nigerians for Foreign goods.
