The Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration (ACG) at the Zone ‘G’ Headquarters, Benin City, Edo State, ACG Dominic Asogwa, has continued to receive commendation for the reforms and renovations so far effected at the zonal headquarters.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASI 1 Raymond Osazuwa, in a statement, said the workers were grateful to the zonal coordinator for the general upgrade and repairs of the dilapidated portions of the office.
He recalled that on assumption of duty, and on observing the deplorable state of the office, ACG Asogwa set up a Nine-Man Committee, headed by a Comptroller of Immigration Services, CIS Ada J. Umannah, which turned out a report detailing repair/replacement of windows, reinforcement of the eroding foundation of the office building, repairs of roof, ceiling and office partition and painting of the office complex as necessary work to be done.
According to him, the committee’s recommendation engendered partnership and assistance from individuals and institutions, including the Okomu Oil Palm Company, which undertook the execution and supervision of the project.
The PRO explained that Asogwa had initiated and undertook other activities, aimed at boosting the structure and image of the office, adding that “the upgrade of the office is one of the great feat and joyful thing that was achieved by the ACG during his tenure and in the zonal office. The new look of the zonal office will in turn boost the morale of the officers working in the Zonal office to put in their best”.
He stated that ACG Asogwa had commended the committee members for making themselves available in the quest to realise his vision and expressed the hope that officers of the command would key into the vision of making the zonal office the envy of others.
