CHAIRMAN of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Delta State chapter, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, has said Delta Central Senatorial District would produce the next governor of Delta State.
He gave the assurance when a former member of the House of Representatives for Ethiope Federal Constituency, Hon. Lovette Idisi, played host to him at Ovu, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.
According to Esiso, the party’s hierarchy would maintain the governorship zoning formula amongst the three senatorial districts, affirming that it was the turn of Delta Central to produce the next Governor in 2023.
The next governorship candidate will emerge from Delta Central as arranged by the party, inspired by Chief James Ibori and other elders and leaders of the party, Esiso said at the event which was organised to celebrate his re-election as chairman of the party.
He also thanked Hon. Lovette Idisi for his grassroots work and urged him to remain steadfast.
According to him, he was surprised when Lovette Idisi said he will be hosting a programme that will unite the party despite losing his push for a second tenure as a lawmaker.
The state chairman, while addressing some decampees to the PDP, said that new members of the party would enjoy equal rights like old members, saying that their progression was tied to their commitment.
Esiso also appreciated all party leaders and members for the sustainable peace in the party, both at local government and state levels.
He advised all candidates contesting for chairmanship and councillorship positions in 2021 council elections to do their consultation in peace.
Also present at the occasion were party leaders and faithful in the council area.
