TENSION is presently high at the Lekki Tollgate as security operatives fired teargas canisters to disperse protesters who were out to mark their one year anniversary.
Popular comedian, Mr Macaroni and activist singer, Falz were leading the car procession at the #EndSARS Memorial protest at Lekki tollgate in Lagos before the teargas canisters were fired.
Macaroni, who was in a Lexus SUV, said Nigeria must listen to the demands of youths and embrace good governance while Falz, who also drove himself, said Nigerians must learn to stand up for their rights.
The protesters had showed up waving Nigerian flags and shouting #ENDSARS before the teargas was fired.
Several persons were seen running and some persons injured in the process.
The toll gate was the epicentre of the nationwide protests last year.
