Activities to celebrate the creation of Issele-Uku Grand Commandery of Knights of St. John’s International (KSJI), commenced on Saturday night with a dinner held at the Grand Hotel, Asaba.
The Supreme Subordinate President, Nigeria, Major Gen. Prof. Remy Uche at the occasion, charged members of KSJI to take the activities of the Order serious.
He thanked Lady Theodora Giwa-Amu for supporting the activities of KSJI, asserting that the growth of the new Commandery should be a mission for all members of KSJI no matter where they are.
The Supreme Subordinate President, urged members of the Order to be committed to the work of God by engaging in evangelism.
“We should sponsor people to be members of the Commandery, from Lagos and any other part of the world, we should assist Issele-Uku Commandery to grow.
“I thank all of you for coming and may God bless you all through Christ our Lord. Amen,” Major General Uche said.
The Charter Grand President for Issele-Uku Commandery, Brig. Gen. Francis Onochie Keshi, thanked God for the support the new Grand Commandery is receiving from Catholics in particular and urged members of the Order to come out for the first Thanksgiving Mass of the Commandery at St. Paul Cathedral, Issele-Uku, stating that time for the Thanksgiving Mass is 10 am.
Some of those who were present at the dinner were Noble Sister Chinwe Mgbajiaka, Brig. Gen. George Ikioumoton, Sir Prof. Epiphany Azinge, Brig. Gen. Joseph Ojobu, Col. Samuel Aghulor, Brig. Gen. Cletus Ntong, among others.
