As the July 13 date for local government election in Delta State gets closer, the state’s Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was engaging in rigorous campaign to marker her candidates
Speaking at a well-attended campaign rally in Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, the deputy governor disclosed that the party painstakingly chose those who can win elections during its primaries, asserting that despite having the people’s choice as candidates, the party was still engaging in local government to local government, ward to ward and unit to unit campaign for all eligible Deltans to vote for the umbrella political party in the election.
He thanked the people of Oshimili South for coming out in their large numbers in solidarity with the PDP.
The deputy governor, said that what he saw on ground had shown that there was no other political party in Oshimili South, and a testament to the fact that Oshimili South was the home of PDP.
Onyeme urged all registered voters to turn out massively on the day of election and vote for PDP.
The state’s PDP Chairman, Chief Kingsley Esiso, while presenting the Party’s flag to the candidate, Dr Obi Kelvin Ezenyili thanked the people of Deltans for the huge support given to the party during the campaign.
Earlier, the Oshimili South Local Government PDP Chairman, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji in his welcome speech, said that the party was prepared for the local government election..
He said they have done a lot of underground work at the units and Ward level assuring that by the grace of God, PDP would come victorious
