Following the successful swearing-in of the newly elected Chairmen of local government councils in Delta State, Ogbuefi Lucky Okuji, has attributed the success stories of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the polls to the leadership style of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Okuji in a telephone chat with NewsDen on Monday shortly after the swearing-in of the Chairmen and the Vice Chairmen of the 25 local government areas of the state, disclosed that Deltans showed their love for Governor Oborevwori’s administration by voting for all the candidates of the PDP in the elections.
Candidates of the PDP clinched all the positions contested for in the elections conducted by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC.
“First of all, I congratulate our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for providing leadership style that is loved by all Deltans which translated in the massive votes for candidates of the PDP in the elections.
“Also, I thank the PDP, our great party for fielding acceptable candidates, popular people in the elections and I thank my people, the people of Ndokwa West Local Government Area in particular for using their voter’s cards to show their love for our Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, by returning Chief Godday Obi Nzete as Chairman of the Council.
“The swearing-in of the Chairmen of councils in the state today, signifies a new dawn for our democracy and for our people at the grassroots as the local government is the government that is closest to the people in our communities.
