RESIDENTS of Mbaise in Imo State, Awka and Onitsha in Anambra State stayed indoors on Monday despite the order by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), suspending the ‘every Monday’ sit-at-home protest declared in solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu.
Our reporters who are at Mbaise, and those in Onitsha and Awka observed that the streets are still deserted as at 10.30 am on Monday.
Some of those who interviewed by Newsden stated that with what happened to those who ventured out of their residence during previous Sit-at-home orders, it was not advisable for people to move around.
At Mbaise, a convoy of security vans loaded with soldiers and policemen were seen moving around major streets apparently to avert any security breach.
