The Maris Trust Council (MTC), organisers of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture series on Saturday, congratulated Dr. Mrs Cecilia Ibru, OFR, MFR, as she marked her 79th birthday anniversary.
Born on March 22, 1946, Mrs Ibru, former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Oceanic Bank was the Mother of the Day at Year 2022 edition of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture.
In a statement signed by the Secretary, MTC, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, and issued in Asaba, Delta State, MTC, described Dr. Ibru as a trailblazer who has contributed so much to the socio-economic life of the people.
The statement reads, “The Maris Trust Council (MTC), today, thank God for the life of the Mother of the Day at Year 2022 edition of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture, Dr. Mrs Cecilia Ibru, OFR, MFR, as she marks her 79th birthday anniversary.
“Dr. Ibru, it would be recalled, contributed immensely to the discussion at the lecture, sharing her vast knowledge about events with a view to making the society better.
“The topic for discussion at that lecture was, “Selfless Service, A Phenomenal Virtue,’ and it was delivered by former Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba, Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas.
“Dr. Ibru, the Visitor cum Co-Founder of Michael and Cecelia Ibru University, Delta State, was born on 22 March, 1946.
“To us at Maris Trust Council, we are happy to celebrate a woman who has impacted in several ways a lot of lives positively, especially as we prepare for another edition of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture billed to hold on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.
“This year’s lecture has as topic, ‘Local Governance And Sustainable Development’ to be delivered by former Managing Director of Champions Breweries, Uyo, Sir Patrick Ejidoh, already, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Delta State, and Mrs Mabel Magbulu, founder, Eagles Height Properties will attend this year’s lecture as discussants.
“We pray for more years filled with strength, good health and joy upon the life of Dr. Mrs Cecilia Ibru.
