GOVERNOR Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, has said that his administration is committed to the development all parts of the state.
Oborevwori spoke on Tuesday at the 80th birthday anniversary celebration thanksgiving of HRM Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, held at St. Jude Catholic Church, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, Oborevwori disclosed that his administration is doing a lot in Uvwie and its environs and all parts of the state.
He said, “Today, the government and the good people of Delta State are rejoicing, thanking God for your life and what you are doing in ensuring a conducive environment for government, investors and individuals to carry out their positive activities in your kingdom.
“In your time Uvwie and its environs are witnessing a lot of positive transformation, we are not just using construction giant, Julius Berger Plc to construct bridges and roads, we are transforming the entire Delta State to be the socio-economic hub of Nigeria.
“As a government, we urge all Deltans to think positive, engage in positive activities, pray and support our administration because we will do MORE to advance our state to achieve the state of our collective dream, the best state in terms of ease of doing business, tourism destination of the world, ensuring food sufficiency for the nation, a state where the youths are in love with education and MORE.”
Oborevwori congratulated the Ovie, and urged him and other Deltans to continue to support his administration with wise counsel and ensuring that people engage in positive activities.
In his a Homily, the Catholic Bishop of Warri Diocese, Most Rev. Anthony Ewherido said that kings and rulers who acknowledge the supremacy of God will continue to reign peacefully in their Kingdoms and will enjoy the support of their subjects and peace in their Kingdoms.
The Archbishop, Bendel province of the Catholic Church, Archbishop Augustine Akubueze who was the Chief Celebrant at the Mass, prayed for the Ovie, Delta State and the nation
Wife of the Edo State Governor, Mrs Betsy Obaseki, top government functionaries, traditional rulers, Captains of Industry, were among dignitaries who attended the ceremony..
