THE Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Effiong Akwa, has scored the interventionist agency high in the delivery of quality projects in the region.
Akwa in a goodwill message delivered on his behalf on Thursday by …, at the 2021 convention of the Delta Online Publishers Forum in Asaba, Delta State, noted that apart from executing landmark projects, the NDDC has also, contributed greatly to the peace and stability of the Niger Delta region.
He said that said the commission was established to develop, stabilise and make life good for the people in the Niger Delta region which it has achieved to a large extent, disclosing that there is still much to be done.
Akwa added that as part of strategies to build a new face for the region, a lot is being done to reach the people, identify their challenges and satisfy their needs.
He said NDDC has taken time to ensure of people-oriented projects are constructed in the states that make up the region and make the people feel the impact of the commission.
According to Akwa, the commission is about to commission an ultra-modern at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and is working on completing electrification projects in five local government areas in Ondo State.
He said a master plan is needed to build a new face for the region and that the commission would work with all stakeholders to make life better for the people.
He commended the leadership and members of the Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) for bringing the issue of Niger Delta to the fore and creating the opportunity for the interventionist agency to make inputs.
