A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. John Konyeke, has called on Nigerians not to be part of anyone’s eath.
Konyeke in a message to commemorate the passion of St John the Baptist on Saturday, said, “don’t be part of someone’s death or downfall in life; God is watching us from a distance!
“Pilgrim, beneath the party of Herod, beneath the music of the musicians and the entaintement of the crowd was the dance for the death of John the Baptist.
“The major reason why the little girl danced so well in the presence of the King and his noble guests was to demand for the head of the preacher after consultation with the evil and angry Mother on a platter.
“Dear child of God, be careful of the party you attend, the refreshments you enjoy and the environment you relax in because there is always a reason for every gathering.
“Imagine when the people saw the head of their preacher on a platter? What was their reaction?”
The feast commemorating the beheading of St. John the Baptist is marked annually by the unversal Church.
