Notable Politicians Pay Condolence Visits To Obielum

PROMINENT politicians have paid condolence visits to a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Godwill Obielum over the death of his mother, Mrs Victoria Ossai Obielum.

A Senatorial candidate on PDP platform in the last general elections, Chief Michael Diden, former Commissioner in the state, Chief Nkem Okwuofu, former Chairman of PDP in the state, Elder Emmanuel Ogidi, renowned businessman, Chief Mike Loyibo, the immediate past Director of Protocols, Government House, Asaba, Hon. Ifeanyi Eboigbe and Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon visited Chief Obielum as a group while a security expert, Chief Isaac Onyesome (Omenosa!), and renowned politician, Chief Solomon Arenyeka also, visited Chief Obielum to express their condolences.

Late Mrs Victoria Ossai Obielum, passed on recently at the age of 87 years.

Though, no date has been fixed for the burial ceremony, the politicians noted that the deceased lived a good and impactful life.

Chief Ogidi said, “Chief Obielum, we know about your antecedents, we know what you are doing for humanity, you have made a mark in the political scene and in other areas, so, with someone like you, Mama lived a wonderful, eventful life.”

Also, Chief Diden who is popularly known as Ejele, stated, “though, you will miss Mama, she tried, to live up to 87 years is not easy, she must have been a prayerful woman, but take solace in the fact that her prayers will remain with you, be rest assured that we will be with you during the burial ceremony.”

Chief Isaac Onyesome, had while consoling Chief Obielum, urged him to know that his siblings look up to him for directions and that he should look up to God and be strong because no one can question God when the issue has to do with death.

Chief Areyenka had in his speech, expressed sadness over the demise of Mrs Obielum and prayed that the Almighty God grant the soul of the deceased a peaceful rest and grant Chief Obielum and his siblings the fortitude to bear the loss.
