A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Romanus Anayeokwu. has said that Christians have several reasons to give thanks to God.
Delivering a Homily during a birthday thanksgiving by Engr. Sebastian Nwose, a lecturer at the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, at the Catholic Church of the Assumption, Asaba, Delta State.
Nwose is presently, the Director, Skill Acquisition Centre of the Polytechnic.
“All that God requires from you is, thank you.
“Love is charity, they are inseparable because, for God so loved the world that He sent His only son to die for us.
“He said, ‘go into the world, be fruitful and multiply.’
“Don’t belittle yourself, you are the son of God; the Bible says that by the mention of His name, every knee shall bow,” the Priest said.
Some of the reasons he gave for Christians to always thank God includes, “The gift of children and more of His blessings on the family.
“God will bless you with children and give your children children, because children are gifts from God.
“The gift of life and protection (maka ndu onye anyi); God is the one in charge – for the gift of life and protection, God is there for you and your children.
“Give thanks to God for brighter future for your children and your children’s children, your tomorrow should be greater than today.
“For your destinies, give thanks to God.
“Also, for appreciation and thanksgiving to God, appreciation is application for more.
“Thanksgiving to God is a test of your faith, so, give Him thanks.
“For sustainability and divine provision, give Him thanks because, God is the greatest provider,’ the Priest said.
Engr. Nwose, a former Head of Department, Civil Engineering Department of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku led members of his family, friends and well wishers to give thanks to God.
