The Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the last 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi has donated the sum of N10m To College of Nursing Science, St Borromeo Specialist Hospital, Onitsha, Anambra State.
Making the donation, Mr Peter Obi said that it’s a way of supporting and impacting some institutions annually toward strengthening the critical sectors, especially health, education and environment and it is also giving back what God has given to him.
The former Governor said that nurses play critical roles in moulding a healthy and virile Nation as they owns the patient and the ones that direct the doctors on what to do so they play vertal role in health sector and are needed globally.
Mr. Obi noted that it is important for relevant authorities at all levels to start prioritising the key sectors of human development like health and education to help alleviate poverty.
The 2023 Presidential Candidate regrets for not meeting up with the last year 2023 donation due to election activities but promise to make it up with the school.
While appreciating him, the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha doubled with the Proprietor and Founder of the College, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, who received the cheque on behalf of the management of the College, commended Mr. Obi for his continuous support to the College.
He said the school was built as a School of Nursing but was upgraded to a College of Nursing Science by the Federal Government because of the quality of the facilities we put in place.
The Archbishop said that Mr. Peter Obi laid the foundation stone of the College and has since then been supporting the College to a greater height and pray God to always bless him.

Archbishop Okeke encouraged the students to keep their flag flying maintaining that there will be no College without the students.
The Archbishop advised them to surpass the record of their predecessors and justify the confidence repose in them.

He also commended the Cordinator Health Services of the Archdiocese and Vice Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Basil Ekwunife for his tenacity and sticking to standards and quality in the affairs of health institutions in the Archdiocese.
Archbishop Okeke also praised the Chief Executive Officer of Borromeo Hospital, Rev. Fr. Dr. Izunna Okonkwo, the Administrator, Povost of the College and all involved in the actualisation of the vision of the Archdiocese in the health sector.
The Archbishop assured of sustaining the tempo of excellence in the affairs of the College to the next decade which will automatically translate to the College becoming a reference point in the entire West African sub region.
In her view, the Students’ Union Government President, Miss Nwafor Cynthia appreciate the opportunity to hear from Mr Peter Obi adding that the beautiful institution which he laid it’s foundation stone and supported as school of Nursing has blossomed into the pace setting College of Nursing in Anambra State.
She prayed Obi never to relent in his interest in human growth, education and empowerment.

This, they said while receiving the annual support of N10 million been giving to the College by the two term former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi.
