The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Tuesday, attributed his actions to God’s guidance.
Speaking at a crusade organized by the Deeper Life Bible Church in Warri, the governor who was represented at the occasion by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, urged Deltans not to waver in their trust in God.
He said, “God is the pillar of the strength we have, He is the guide of our actions and He is surely our guard at all times.
“I will like to commend the Deeper Life Bible Church for this spiritual reawakening exercise here in Warri.
“This is mainly to bring people to God in keeping with the injunction of Jesus Christ that everyone who treads the path of righteousness is saved.
“In Acts 10:35 Peter said: “But in every nation, he that feareth him and workerth righteousness, is accepted with him.”
“It is therefore in obedience to the command of God that you are spreading the word so that more people will come to God through His son, Jesus Christ.
“Our Lord Jesus Christ, specifically enjoined the apostles in Mark 16:15-16: “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved.”
“This is precisely what you are doing by taking the gospel not only across the nation but the world as a whole.
“I sincerely appreciate the doggedness in the pursuit of what the Lord commanded, no doubt, the good Lord will strengthen you and make provisions for you in this commitment to bring more people into salvation and the love of God.
“Here in Delta State, we sincerely believe in the word of God. In fact, Delta is a praying State.
“This administration is a product of the mighty work of God; there were many obstacles but the special grace of God saw us through.
“We firmly believe that the hands of God is upon the State; this is why we will continue to honour and worship the only true God in whom our trust and implicit faith lean.
“This crusade is a call to service of God. No doubt, many souls have been saved and surely there is rejoicing in heaven, because of the numerous souls you have brought to God through His son, Jesus Christ.
“Your prayers here will go a long way in helping us to continue on the path of delivering infrastructure and human capital development across the State.
“We identify with any and everything that promotes the work of the Kingdom of God.”
The General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi in a sermon, described Deltans as receptive and faithful people.
He prayed for Deltans and the state, and urged the people not to waver in their faith in God.
“Have faith in Christ, once you believe, it is possible in your life because with God, all things are possible.
“Have faith in God and cancel the word, impossibility, with faith, when you say this mountain move, it will move.”
