DEPUTY Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Ochor Ochor, has called on the youths of Ukwuani Local Government, to be agents of peace at all time, especially in dealing with fellow youths.
The Deputy Speaker stated this recently at a summit organized by Obiaruku Community Youths Association.
Rt. Hon Ochor, represented by the 2nd member of the Delta State Assembly Services Commission, Chief Timothy Umukoro, stated that peace building amongst the youths is very vital, and should not be neglected, as this will cause suspicion and lack of trust among the group.
He stated that, youths being a very vital class of any society, has an important duty to perform in the development of the Obiaruku community, and other communities in the area.
“While I congratulate you on this peace summit, I have to remind you of your place in the development of this community. You have to ensure that, peace building is the bedrock of this body. You must leave as one, and resolve every issue, without biases.
“Your place in the development of every society is very vital, no society will develop, if there is no peace within the youth class.
“I therefore appeal to you to pursue peace, avoid rumour mongering, be open to each other. When you do this, our society, especially Obiaruku, and Ukwuani Local Government Area will be a better place,” he stated.
