The Transition Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Hon. Pascal Aniegbuna has distributed cheques to beneficiaries of the One Youth, Two Skills Solution Initiative of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in the Council Area.
The event which took place at the Council’s Headquarters in Atani had all the beneficiaries in attendance.
Hon. Aniegbuna who applauded the Governor for the laudable youth empowerment programme which is first of its kind in Anambra State, said that it is a good step in the right direction.
According to him, the distribution of cheques to the beneficiaries has shown the commitment of the Governor and his government to developing the youths of Anambra State through meaningful skills acquisition programmes.
Hon. Aniegbuna commended Prof Soludo for the financial support given to the five thousand Anambra Youths that successfully passed through the various skills acquisition and vocational training.
While describing the scheme as a spectacular youth development programme of the Governor, the Chairman, applauded the Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba for piloting the programme to its successful end.
Hon. Aniegbuna further charged the beneficiaries of the programme to use the fund given to them for the purpose that it is meant for as that would spur Governor Soludo to do more for the Youths Community in Anambra State.
Recall that recently, five thousand Ndi Anambra who took part in the youth empowerment programme of the Soludo-led government under the One Youth, Two Skills Solution Initiative graduated from their vocational and skill acquisition trainings and Governor Soludo promised to empower them with over two-billion-naira start-up funds which he has redeemed.
All the participants of the skills were awarded with Certificate and cheque to start up what they have learnt and someday become an Employment of Labour.
The participants expressed their gratitude to the governor and promised to make use of the opportunity given to them.
