Mr Patrick Ogelenya, the Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on Chieftaincy Matters, has said that the governor is running an all-inclusive government.
Speaking with journalists in Asaba, Ogelenya noted that Governor Oborevwori’s style of leadership has endeared him to all Deltans and has ensured a stable political environment in the state.
He said, “it is good that we have a governor who is carrying everybody along, a governor who has a listening ear and a true democrat who accommodates those who are criticizing him and those who are singing his praises.
“To a large extent, even the opposition political parties are enjoying his style of leadership and for them to have candidate for the next election, they are doing everything to woo him to their political parties because our governor is a governor of all Deltans and he is not discriminating against anybody.”
He also spoke about the alleged plans for the governor to move to another political party saying, “that is what I stated earlier and the leadership of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party has made it clear that PDP is Delta State and Delta is PDP, the style of leadership of our governor has further entrenched our party in our state to the extent that members of other political parties do not know whether they are members of the PDP or any other political party, so, we, as members of the PDP, we are enjoying the fact that members of the opposition political parties have keyed into the leadership style of our governor and are working with him for the MORE Agenda to be delivered effortlessly.
“As someone who is working closely with the traditional institution in the state, I can also, tell you confidently that almost all the kingdoms in the state are in peace and this has translated to peace in all parts of the state.
“The governor’s impact can also be witnessed in all the communities in the state in terms of political patronage, so, Deltans are happy with our Governor and I can also say that Deltans will see more delivery of projects because, if they can be happy with just two years of this administration, imagine what the state would be in the next six years.”
