The Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Patrick Ogelenya has said that the governor is committed to delivering quality projects that will stand the test of time.
Speaking on Monday in Asaba, Ogelenya disclosed that the governor as a man who has been around, would not compromise on quality and that he would also, ensure even development of the state.
“We are seeing what our governor is doing, he is personally inspecting ongoing projects in the state to ensure that they meet what is in the bill of quantities, there is no doubt that the projects that are being executed by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration will stand the test of time.
“Evidently too, all parts of Delta are witnessing projects being executed by the governor and it is a thing of joy that Deltans are happy with the governor, he is a man of the people who is not playing to the gallery, all that he is focused on is delivering on the MORE Agenda for the good of Deltans and for posterity,” Ogelenya said.
He called on Deltans to reciprocate the governor’s gesture of delivering quality projects by ensuring that the projects are maintained saying, “as Deltans, we also have a lot of roles to play to complement what the governor is doing, we cannot be throwing our wastes into drainages, we have to protect projects that are executed in our areas and ensure that they are not vandalised or damage.
“If we protect government projects in our area, it will encourage government to bring more development to our areas but if we are known for destroying government property, government will not be interested in executing projects in areas where the people are fond of destroying government property, we should be peaceful, respect our traditional rulers because they are the government that are closer to the people and support government and its activities.”
