THE Deputy Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Monday Onyeme has urged Deltans to preach to all Nigerians the need to vote massively for the duo of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as President and Vice President respectively on the platform of the PDP.
Onyeme who took time to x-ray the benefits of voting for all the candidates of the PDP in the forthcoming elections, emphasized that Delta has a lot to benefit with the emergence of Governor Okowa as Vice President.
The deputy governorship candidate for the first time after his emergence as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the PDP addressed an enlarged meeting of Ndokwa Core Group at Ibabu, Onicha-Ukwuani, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday.
He said, “it is a thing of joy that all candidates on the platform of the PDP for the 2023 general elections from Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency are here.
“This meeting is important for the world to know that PDP remains intact and I thank all of you for the successful primary elections.
“We thank God that the primary elections were without hitches; I thank all of you for your prayers and support because there was no elections for the deputy governorship position but our Governor, the Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, supported us.
“We should be grateful to the Governorship candidate of our party, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for choosing me as his running mate and my greatest appreciation to all Deltans for applauding his choice.
“Primary elections are over and we want our political party to remain united as we go for the general elections; if there is any aggrieved person as a result of the outcome of the primary election, the person should forgive us and let us work as a family; it is time to face other political parties in the general elections.
“We have also, forgiven those who insulted us as a result of the primary election because, it was all part of politics.
“Since the birth of democracy, no Deltan has ever been the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and God has made it possible for a Deltan, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to emerge as the Vice Presidential candidate.
“We must vote for the PDP because with Governor Okowa as the Vice President, a lot of vacancies will be created for the people of our dear State; he will attract a lot of developmental projects to our state.
“At present, not much of Federal presence have been felt in our state because another political is at the helm of affairs, so, this is a golden opportunity for us to vote for the PDP – Alhaji Abubakar is sound and we are enjoying the good benefits of democracy as a result of good governance being administered by Governor Okowa which he will replicate at the federal level.
“Everywhere you go, preach Atiku/Okowa ticket; tell the world that Aticulated/Okowalized ticket of PDP is where we are.
“I am confident that Ndokwa will give Atiku 98 percent of their votes.
“God is guiding me as an individual that is why I am confident that come 2023, Alhaji Abubakar and Governor Okowa will be in Aso Rock.”
He also, talked about the governorship candidate of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori assuring that truth will always prevail.
Chief Onyeme urged members of the PDP not to waver in their support for the PDP as<span;> Rt. Hon. Oborevwori would be vindicated at the end of the day.
He said, “do not be afraid, the truth will always prevail; they said Sheriff had no certificate, he presented his certificates; they said the certificates belong to his younger brother, we are yet to see such a person, so, Sheriff will remain our governorship candidate and become our governor with our votes no matter what they do.
“Tell them that it was because of Sheriff that all other political parties started choosing their running mates from Ndokwa which shows that all the parties are afraid of the PDP.
“The three local government is PDP and by extension, Delta State will continue to be PDP; we will win all our elections.”
Those who spoke at the meeting include the Chairmen of the PDP in Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani local government areas, Chief Vincent Osilonya, Ogbuefi Lucky Okuji and Chief Patrick Kaine respectively.
They assured the people that the PDP machinery is intact and that with Governor Okowa and Chief Onyeme contesting the elections, the victory of the PDP in the area is a done deal.
