The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has called on communities in the state to key into government policies and programmes to ensure speedy development of the state.
He made the call on Wednesday when he received on courtesy call, His Royal Majesty, Dr Evang R. C Osanwuta the Ezhie 1 of Ezhionum Kingdom and his Council of Chiefs at his office in Asaba.
Onyeme, assured the people that the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration is determined to bring development closer to the people through the MORE Agenda adding that no area would be neglected.
“I am certain that as a government, we shall address the challenges of lack of infrastructure in our communities; all that is required is for communities to embrace government programmes and policies, create the enabling environment for development to take place,” he said.
Earlier, in an address, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Rowland Osawunta, congratulated Onyeme on his successful inauguration as Deputy Governor and expressed the community’s appreciation to the state government for the establishment of the Delta Special Economic Zones Management Company.
The King whose address was read by Chief Ojima, highlighted some challenges facing the community to include lack of good roads, poor power supply, absence of job opportunities for the youths as well as absence of tertiary institutions.
