The Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, on Thursday, decorated newly promoted police officers attached to his office.
The deputy governor performed the function at his office in Government House, Asaba.
Chris Obumnaene, Sonny Etunim Okwuada and Fred Abbey-Kalio, were promoted from the rank of Inspectors to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASPs).
Speaking shortly after decorating the three police officers, Sir Onyeme, noted that the promotion was a product of diligence and commitment to duty, urging the officers to see the new feat as a springboard to further hard work.
The deputy governor, charged the Police Officers to be diligent in their duties.
While praying for more career success for his aides and staff, Onyeme enjoined them to be honest and straightforward in the discharge of their duties.
Onyeme, disclosed that anyone that works faithfully will always witness tremendous progress and success.
He urged staff to be committed, dedicated to their duties and be ready to make sacrifice at all times.
“Your sacrifice will be rewarded with promotion to your next rank which is a challenge to continue with your good work and even perform better.
“Always try to be honest, because there is nothing better than honesty in life.
“Be straightforward in whatever you do, because, God will make you to shine more in your career.”
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted police officers, ASP Chris Obumnaene, thanked the deputy governor for offering promotion prayers for them.
He promised that the newly promoted officer would be more committed to thier duties to justify their new ranks and also add more value to the Police and service to their nation
They thanked God for their elevation saying, “The Deputy Governor is our father, and he took us as his children, so, it is an honour for him to decorate us with our new ranks.”
The Member representing Ndokwa West Constituency in the State House of Assembly DTHA, Hon. Charles Emetulu, Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Christopher Ifeanyi Osakwe, Delta State PDP Secretary Engr. Dan Ossai, Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government Area Hon. Obi Nzete and the Convoy Escort Commander, ASP Christopher Dedan amongst others witnessed the decoration ceremony.
