The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has called on those seeking for political appointments or government patronage not to wait for government recognition before they contribute to the growth of the society.
According to Sir Onyeme, with or without political patronage Nigerians should contribute their quota to the growth of the society and by their actions, those in authority will recognize their inputs and patronize them.
He spoke on Tuesday sday in Asaba when members of the disbanded Sir Monday Onyeme’s (SMO) media, the team which propagated his activities during the electioneering campaign led by Comrade Wilson Osemele paid him a courtesy visit.
” You don’t need to wait until you are named or given an appointment before you do things that will positively promote the government and the party.
“Sometimes, it is by these positive things that you do or publish as someone in the media that may even promote you more, people who are in government may read about your good work and ask questions about you and call for you to get government appointment or any form of patronage to encourage you.
“I want to advice, that if you love Monday Onyeme, if you love our party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and if you want to support our government, if you love us, you don’t have to wait before you do what you are supposed to do to promote the government, the party and me.
“So, go on and do what you are known for and the benefits will come in several ways,” the deputy governor said.
Earlier, Comrade Osemele had said that the purpose of the visit was to inform the deputy governor that members of the team were still intact and ready to work when called upon to do so.
