A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Cornelius Okeibunor, has said that with the celebration of the feast of the Pentecost, Christians should be more united.
Fr. Okeibunor, in a Homily on Sunday morning at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Asaba, Delta State, said that with the promise of Jesus Christ to be with His Disciples till the end, the Church should be more united and committed to winning souls for Chris.
He said, “The disciples were together in the Upper Room, they shared their common faith and common fear; Christian community should be a community of unity, there should be no room for division.
“We should pray that the Holy Spirit will bind us together as Christians, followers of Jesus Christ.
“The impact of the Holy Spirit is always felt; when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, something unusual is always noticed.
“As Christians, what part of the Holy Spirit are you manifesting?
“There are different gifts of the Holy Spirit, are we suppressing the gift or using it to serve God?
“Most of us will shut down the aspect of Holy Spirit in us by giving excuses not to do what is expected of us
“The language of the Holy Spirit is not the language of confusion, it is not a language of aggrandisement, it is not about speaking in tongues, it is about living like Christ.
“You are not supposed to be taught the act of speaking in tongues, it is a gift of the Holy Spirit to win souls for God.
“Wherever you find yourself, manifest the gift of the Holy Spirit by using the position to serve God.
“God bless you as you work for Christ “
