DETERMIND to stem the tide of crime and other nefarious activities in Anambra State, Police operatives attached to Isiowulu Division in conjunction with local vigilante have arrested three armed robbery suspects at Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of the State.
Among those arrested were Chukwuebuka Oguejiofor, aged 21 from Umueshi Abogwu, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State; Joel Dickson, aged 20 from Itu Ikpe, Ikot Ekpene North Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and Uchenna Uzoechi aged 19, resident of 19 Aririonwu Street, Okpoko and a native of Aguobu Owa, Ezeagu North Local Government Area of Enugu State.
A release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State Mr. Haruna Mohammed (CSP), said the suspects allegedly attacked, robbed and injured a middle aged man at number 16 Frank Nolly Street, Nkpor and proceeded to Limca Road Odume and attacked five other persons.
Exhibits recovered in their possessions include two cutlasses, five handsets and one yellow tricycle with Registration Number Owerri 961 WJ used in perpetrating the act.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police Mr. John Abang has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation.
He further reassured the public that the Command would continue to pursue the criminals from all nooks and cranny of the State until they repent or relocate from the State.
