The Chairman, Ika South Local Government, Engr Jerry Ehiwarior, has lauded the End Bad Governance protesters in Agbor and security agencies for their peaceful conduct.
Addressing the protesters at Agbor- Obi Junction in the local government area, today, Ehiwarior said that he was impressed with the peaceful conduct of the protesters and the professionalism of security agents in the area.
In a statement he issued after addressing the protesters, the chairman said, “Today, I’m proud of our youths and residents of Ika south local government area in particular, for our collective resolve to press our demand in a united and such a peaceful way.
” I was at Agbor-Obi Junction this morning to address my people who are on the streets airing their grievances in regards the economy and state of the nation.
As we go about this, let’s continue to be peaceful and not engaging in violence or destruction of public properties.
“I must commend the security agencies for being on ground, engaging professionally and making sure there’s orderliness in our land.”
Our Correspondent reports that while there was an appreciable turnout of protesters in and around Agbor, commercial centres, including banks and markets, remained shut during the peaceful protests which began early in the morning.
