THE Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, has expressed satisfaction with the level of arrangements made so far for the burial of a former Acting Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Prince Sam Obi.
Chief Ukah, who visited the venues for the lying in state, burial and the funeral service/reception on Wednesday at Ute-Okpu, Ika North East Local Government Area, however advised that more hands should be added to those on the ground to ensure a hitch-free ceremony.
While being conducted round the lying in state and burial venue by the Chairman of the committee for the burial, Dr. Festus Okubor, the SSG commended the quality of job done at the venues.
Rt. Hon. Obi died on April 3, 2021.
He was an Acting Governor of Delta State in 2007 and represented Ika North East constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly for three terms from 2003 to 2015.
A service of songs in his honour will hold on Thursday, July 15, 2021 beginning by 5pm at the Oracle of God Ministries, Asaba, which he founded as a minister of God.
On Friday, the funeral service and reception will take place at Ute-Okpu Grammar School, Ute-Okpu.
