THE Chairman, Joshua Opia Foundation (JOF), a non-governmental organization, Hon. Joshua Opia, has called on Deltans to assist Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to deliver on democratic dividends.
Opia spoke on Wednesday at Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State when members of the Committee for the public presentation of the book, The Experience, paid him a visit.
He noted that Governor Okowa has done a lot for Deltans, emphasising that governance is a collective responsibility.
“I am happy that you, my brother, Egugbo have written a book as a result of our Governor sponsoring you on pilgrimage to Rome and Israel.
“I am happy because, governance is collective; in our own ways, how are we encouraging governance? How are we improving on the society?
“Our Governor, Senator Dr Okowa has done very well, he has opened new frontiers in governance and collectively, we should also, in our ways, assist the governor for the society to be better.
“For years to come, with The Experience, generations will read about Governor Okowa and the importance of religious pilgrimage.
“I commend those who are contributing to the public presentation of the book and wish to assure you that by the grace of God, we all will be at Unity Hall, Government House on October 6 to tap from The Experience,” Hon. Opia said.
Earlier, Hon. Ufuoma Onovughakpo who spoke on behalf of the team, had told Hon. Opia that the visit was to intimate him about the book, authored by Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, Special Assistant, Media to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
She stated that activities are in top gear for the successful presentation of the book, “which is attracting positive reactions within and outside the country.
“We are proud to be working for the presentation of the book as it is <span;> about some seldomly projected features of Christian pilgrimage with significant acknowledgement of the deliberate efforts of our workaholic, focused, result-oriented Governor in consciously encouraging and supporting the growth of Christianity.
“It will be presented on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Delta State at 12 noon.
“By the grace of God, our Governor, Senator Dr Okowa will be the Special Guest of Honour, and former Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha will be the Chairman of the occasion,” Hon. Onovughakpo, who is also, the Special Assistant, Media, to Governor Okowa said.
Comrade Fidelis Egugbo and Mr Uche Igba were also, present during the visit.
