Members of the Association of Waste Managers (ASWAMA), have appealed to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to include them in relevant Boards.
The Asaba Zonal Vice Chairman of the Association, Mr. Sunday O. Isichei, made the appeal while speaking with correspondents in Asaba.
He said that the governor should consider the inclusion of waste Managers (PSP on Waste Matters) in the position of the Executive Chairman and Members of the Delta State Waste Management Board, in particular, noting that such would give them a sense of belonging and the opportunity for the Waste to Wealth project to be achieved.
Isichei, commended and appreciated Governor Oborevwori for his magnanimity in the prompt release of funds to the board to enable them carry on with the responsibilities of making Asaba the cleanest state capital in Nigeria.
“No one will understand the job more than us that is why we want to be in charge of the Waste Management Board in particular.
“Our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has started well by encouraging us to make Asaba and Delta State clean, we look forward to our members managing our affairs in the Board,” Isichei said.
